Andrew (Andy) Komar of Endicott, NY, died on Friday, March 27, 2026 in Danville PA at the age of 91. He was predeceased by his parents, Vasil and Anna Komar; sisters, Ann (Richard) Barton and Mary Komar; brothers, John (Norma), George (Sallie), and Vasil (Charlie) Komar; and brother and sister-in-law Michael and Laura Delaney.
Andy was also predeceased by his wife Catherine (Ky) Delaney Komar, his true love.
He is survived by his brother Paul (Teri-Goodall) Komar, sister Delores (Susan Wolford) Komar, brother-in-law Robert (Sue) Hankey, and sister-in-law Jean Komar, five children, David (Sarah), Thomas (Norma Yohai), Michael (Jill), William (Kimberly) and daughter Judy West; four grandchildren, Peter (Alex), Leah (Henry), Hannah (Zachary) and Daniel (Cody), and 3 great grandchildren, Elliott, Lucy Catherine, and Paul.
Andy was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Endicott and its choir, a member of the American Carpatho Russian Citizens Club, and a retired employee of IBM.
Andy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved getting his family, friends and neighbors together, making elderberry wine, and vegetable gardening. Many would say he was one of kind.
The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY on Thursday April 2nd from 6 to 8 PM. The Rev. Fr. Alexander Hurtsellers will hold a Panachida Service on Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow on Friday April 3rd at 11 AM at the funeral home.
