John "Jake" Leet

John "Jake" Leet passed away on July 24 at Wilson Hospital after a brief illness.   He was predeceased by his parents Sanford and Genevieve Leet, wife Jacki Leet, son John Patrick Leet, brothers-in-law James W. Darling and Gary Darling, and in-laws Jack and Helen Darling.

 He is survived by his daughter Kate (Mike) Dingell, brother Brian (Rita) Leet, grandchildren Grace and Elise Dingell, sisters-in-law Shirley (Paul) Smith and Marcia Darling, nieces and nephews Heather (Joel), Allyson, Jason (Brittany), Christopher (Abigail), Christine, Josh (Casey), Andy (Beth), Melissa (Ryan), Matthew, JJ (Ally), Ashley (Chris), many grand-nieces and nephews, and too many close friends that he considered family to list.

 John was a pillar of the Binghamton community for over 50 years.  After working at a few Radio stations in the area, he worked his way up in Television to become the General Manager for multiple Binghamton TV stations, most recently retiring from WICZ-TV. John was actively engaged in charity across the Binghamton area for many years, including but not limited to the Rotary, United Way, Samaritan House, and sponsoring the John Patrick Leet Memorial Golf Tournament.

 John was an avid golfer and golf fan. He went to college on a golf scholarship and played at and supported many Binghamton area golf courses throughout the years, with his "home away from home" being Endwell Greens. At Endwell Greens, John was not only a key golf member of the club, but also actively supported its food and spirits business, with a primary focus on spirits.

 Funeral services will be held Thursday July 31st at 10:00 AM at The Church of the Holy Family 3600 Phyllis St. Endwell, NY. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY, with a celebration of life to follow. The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY on Wednesday July 30th from 4 to 6 PM.
