George Michael Bush, known to all as “Mickey”, 71, of Endwell, NY passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, at UHS Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, NY. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 35 years Charlotte Dean, and parents, George A. and Mary E. Bush.
He is survived by his beloved daughters Jennifer (Christopher) Yurko, and Jessica (Kyle) Goldcamp. His cherished grandchildren Mackenzie and Ellison Yurko; and Lucas, Graham, and Trent Goldcamp. He leaves behind many dear friends and family.
He was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church in Endicott, New York. The opportunity for redemptive suffering was not lost on him as he would offer up his pain in reparation for sins and the deeper conversion of his family and friends. Mickey proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the O.L. Davis Fire Company for 40 years, holding the distinguished positions of Captain and Fire Commissioner. Among his most cherished memories were his years with the National Ski Patrol at Greek Peak, where he compassionately aided injured skiers. A lifelong and passionate fan of Notre Dame Football, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Fighting Irish with his daughters and friends.
Above all, he treasured his beloved family and friends, especially his daughters, whom he lovingly encouraged to always do their best, a precious legacy that will live on in his grandchildren. A man of deep faith and boundless generosity, Mickey always prioritized others' well-being and was ready to help anyone in their time of need.
The family extends their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care he received from the UHS Wilson Emergency Room and the dedicated staff of the oncology unit on the fifth floor.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, at 9:30 AM, from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott NY, and at 10:00 AM from St. Joseph’s Church 207 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City NY. The family will receive friends at Pucedo Funeral Home on Monday, July 28th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
