Roy J. Anderson, 88, of Johnson City, New York, passed away at home surrounded by his family on March 08, 2026. He was born in Endicott, New York, to the late Francis and Florence Anderson.
Roy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Anderson; his children, Leroy (Cynthia) Anderson, Brian (Linda) Anderson, Carolyn Anguiano, Wayne (Debra) Anderson, Heather Myrick, Lisa (Bill) Kienzler, and Colleen McVannan. He is also survived by several grandchildren, many close nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Rosie.
Roy loved the outdoors - spending time fishing, hunting, working on cars, and sharing stories with anyone who would listen. He had a gift for storytelling that brought laughter and smiles to those around him.
In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his siblings, Eugene Anderson, Francis Anderson, Florence Skiba, Blanche Anderson, Ida Warrick, Ralph Anderson, and Claire Anderson.
Roy will be remembered for his love of family, his strength, and the many memories he created with those he loved.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. May his spirit always roam the quiet woods and gentle waters he loved so dearly. Family and friends are invited to share memories, stories, and condolences in honor of Roy’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation, a charity that celebrates his love of fishing and the outdoors.
