Matthew T. Taft, 49 of Endicott, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday March 14, 2026. He is survived by his father, John Taft (Noelle); his mother, Freda Ballard (John); his grandmother, Helen Patton; his brother, Jesse Taft (Becky) and their son, Ryder; his sister, Abby Kilmer (Michael) and their children, Nathan, Naomi, Nehemiah, Noah and Nazareth; his brother, Gordon Benninger (Anne); also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew was a graduate of The Central Baptist Christian Academy of Binghamton and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Johnson City and a certified member of its Safety Team. He was employed as a Service Writer with Matthews Nissan of Vestal, NY. He was an avid fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, The NY Yankees, NASCAR and car shows with his Camaro and Monte Carlo. He enjoyed Sunday Dinner and a race with his father, and Thursday Night Dinners with his brother Jesse and his family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday March 21, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to a charity of one’s own choice.
