John Joseph Tomsey, 81, of Endicott, NY left this life on September 23 rd 2026. John was born on June 29, 1945 in Johnson City, NY to the late Joseph and Helen (née Zemek) Tomsey. John served in the US Army in Vietnam. John was a patriot and proud of his
honorable service to the country he loved. He worked hard his whole life and retired from his job as a bus driver for the Johnson City School District. John was an excellent golfer, a lover of animals, a fan of eating out, and a loyal friend. And he loved his Yankees and Buffalo Bills. With a giant heart and cheerful smile, John would do anything for anyone whom he thought he could help.
He will be missed by many. John was predeceased by his brother Robert, his sister-in-law Patricia, his niece Robyn Lee Tomsey, and his beloved wife of 31 years Marla (née Citko). He is survived by his nephew David Tomsey (Tricia), many cousins including Mary Jo Albee and Suzanne Penavić, and many friends including the staff and residents of the third floor at Absolut Center for Nursing in Endicott.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday October 17 th , 2026 from 11:00 a.m. at Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, 1905 Watson Boulevard, Endicott New York. The Very Rev. Fr. Michael Kleban will conduct an Eastern Orthodox Panikhida service at noon. Interment will be at Riverhurst Cemetery in Endicott at the family’s convenience.
