Louise Ann Battaglini

On October 21, 2021, Louise Ann Battaglini went to be with the Lord, her husband Mario and her son David, passing away peacefully in her sleep. She was 88 years old. A lifelong Endicott native, Louise was well loved in her town by family and friends. Louise was the mother of three children, grandmother to nine grandchildren, great grandmother to four great grandchildren, as well as a niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Despite her large network of family and friends, she always made time for everyone and provided support and love for all.

She was born on August 15, 1933, in Johnson city, a daughter of the late Phillip and Nicoletta Cicciarelli. Louise was also predeceased by her husband of 64 wonderful years Mario, son David, her brother Johnny and her sister Mary.She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Ralph) Garrison, her son Joseph (Denise) Battaglini, sisters Rita Tricarico, Yolanda Masi, and Rosalie Gennarelli. She is also survived by her aunt Amelia Palmisano and cousin Becky Borelli, with whom she shared a special bond from the time she was a little girl.

After dedicating 20 plus years, Louise retired from Endicott Trust Company, but continued to practice her money management skills and passed along her knowledge to her family. 

She was a member of St. Anthony's Church. Her favorite pastimes included trips to the casino, cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren, and ensuring she scheduled around her 12:00 a.m. “soap opera” stories. Louise was also loved by her nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam) Goett, Michael (Kai) Garrison, Elizabeth Garrison, Andrew Battaglini (Lacey), Jeffrey (Christine) Battaglini, James Battaglini (Joanna), Jenna Battaglini, Emerson Murphy, and Emily Battaglini. Louise is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Lucy Louise and Patrick James Goett, Camilla James Battaglini, and Henry David Garrison.

She will always be remembered as a strong-willed, Italian Matriarch who endlessly cherished her family.

 A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday October 30, at 10:00 a.m at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY, followed by entombment in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to either, Mercy House 212 N. Jim Amory

Jim Amory, 87 of Endicott, NY (Formerly of LeRaysville, PA) passed away peacefully Monday October 18, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his daughter, Clare Amory; his brothers, Frederick, Hugh and William Amory; his sister, Amey Amory-DeFriez. He is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Cunningham, Catherine Amory, Ruth Amory-Hedges (Eric), Robin Spencer; four grandchildren, Autumn and Cyrus Hedges, Tony and Kara Spencer; his former wife, Carolyn Timmsen-Amory.

He was a graduate of Groton School in Groton MA, class of 1952 and attended Harvard University before joining the Army and serving from 1953-1955. After serving in the Army he was a Union Organizer for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. He was a Civil Rights Activist in Haywood County ,TN, during the Civil Rights Movement. He was also active in the Native American Rights Movement in California where he met our mother Carolyn and together stayed in the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. They later moved to LeRaysville, PA and built a home on a farm and after several years purchased the Amish Milk Cooperative Cheese Factory transforming it into an award winning venture and retired at the age of 76.

The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY, on Sunday October 24, 2021, from 2 :00 PM until 3:00 PM when a Memorial Service will begin. E. Gene Stagnitto

E. Gene Stagnitto, 96, of Good Shepherd Village @ Endwell, passed away Monday morning, October 18, 2021. She was predeceased by her grandson, Devin Howie, and her loving husband of 69 years, Joseph Paul Stagnitto. She is survived by her daughters, June Muldner (Carl), Janet Howie (Greg Benson); her grandsons, Josh (Maria), Todd, and Alan Muldner, Colin Howie; her great-grandchildren, Marina, Juliana and Mitchell Muldner; her sisters, Charlotte Gasser and Florence Borman, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gene was born in Dale, Indiana on June 25, 1925, to Paul and Blanche Jochim. She was one of seven children, and a twin to Elmer, with whom she shared a special bond. She was a retired high school secretary from Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Gene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St. Endwell, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Marlene (Crescente) Kadleck

Marlene (Crescente) Kadleck, 79 of Endicott, NY, passed away at her home after a long battle with Cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Evelyn Crescente. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lewis E. Kadleck; her son, Anthony Michael Kadleck; her grandson, Jack Henry Kadleck; her sister, Patricia Crescente; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed Kadleck, Barbara Allen, Shirley and Bill Friday; her dear friends, Donna and Joe Guarnieri, Nick and Patty Rano, Ed and Diane Guley; her canine companions, Rosie and Bear; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a retired employee of IBM Endicott and a former member of the Daughters of Columbus Lodge. She was a past volunteered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton, Meals on Wheels, and Binghamton General Hospital. 


A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday October 12, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Ave., Endicott, NY at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow at the Sons of Italy in Endicott. At Marlene’s request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850.

Rosalyn (Roz) Roma 79 of Endicott passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Grace Sementelli; her in-laws Mario and Madeline Roma; her brother-in-law John Roma. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years Ron Roma; her daughters Debra (Beth Herrick), Lisa (Bob) Koban; her sister-in-law Diane Roma; nieces Michelle (Fred), Denise; her nephew Mark (Stephanie); special great-nephew Michael (Kelly) Barton; special friends Mary Lou Paoletti, Rich and Paulette Donkersloot, Jimmy and Patti Koval; also many cousins and dear friends.

Roz loved to travel and spend time in Hilton Head, SC. She was an avid crocheter and blessed many with her prayer shawls, afghans, and kitty cat beds. She was a true lover of animals. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bruce Bowling, Dr. Jonathan Kloss, Kim Merrill, and the entire staff of Broome Oncology and Lourdes Hospital, One Ross for the love and compassion that was shown to Roz. Beth L. Morgan

Beth L. Morgan, age 79, of Endwell, NY, passed away July 14, 2021, at the James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home following a long illness. She was born in Binghamton, NY, on January 31, 1942, to Louise and David Morgan, who predeceased her. Beth was also predeceased by her sister Sydney Morgan Nelson and her brother David Morgan. She is survived by her nieces Christina Nelson, Julie Nelson Gomez, and brother-in-law Donald Nelson, also several cousins and many dear friends.

Beth was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the University of Rochester hospital school of nursing. She worked as a nurse for 50 yrs, first in New York City and San Francisco before returning to Binghamton and working at Lourdes Hospital for many years and then Professional Homecare until her retirement at age 70.

Beth loved to travel, loved the outdoors, and animals of all kinds; whale watching and bird watching were among her favorite activities. Her most cherished companions were her black lab Maggie Mae and cocker spaniel Harry, who predeceased her.

Calling hours will be Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Pucedo Funeral Home 1905 Watson Blvd, Endicott, NY. Burial at a later date at Vestal Hills Cemetery. Donations in Beth’s name can be made to Animal Care Council 131 Washington Ave., Endicott, NY 13760.

Stacy Ann (Matisi) Garren

Stacy Ann (Matisi) Garren, of Endicott passed away Monday August 23, 2021, at the age of 46. She was predeceased by her grandparents Joseph and Helen Matisi, and C. Robert and Ann Haynes, her aunt and uncle Richard and Sharon Riis. Stacy is survived by her husband Jason Garren, her parents John and Paula (Haynes) Matisi, her sons David John Martin, Zachary Garren, her grandchildren Jordan and Gabriella Matisi, her sister Nicole Matisi, nephew Cameron Matisi, also aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Stacy was born on September 27, 1974 in Endicott, NY, she was a former employee of Citizen’s Bank in Endicott and Vestal. Stacy filled her days loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. At Stacy’s request there will be no formal funeral services or public calling hours. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Stacy may be made to one’s own choice.

Richard A. Stiegerwald

Richard A. Stiegerwald, also known as Pac-Man and grew up in Astoria, Queens, NY, passed away July 30, 2021. In Astoria he raised his children Lisa, Raymond, Richie, Dennis & Carrie. He was an avid fisherman, loved shooting pool, and also loved going to the beach after his busy week of driving a tractor trailer. As time went on he became a wonderful grandfather to Joseph, Amanda, Alexis, Raymond Jr., Richard, Zachary, Declan, and Lucas.

He was a little rough around the edges, but had a great sense of humor. Everyone who knew him grew to love him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 6:00 pm at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott with the Rev. Fr. James P. Serowik officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:30 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
