Kathryn Ann Potter (Kathy), 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 4, 2026.
Kathy is now reunited with her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth Carl, who predeceased her in 2018, parents Vaughn and Dorothy Matteson, and sister Mary Lou Fitch.
She is survived by her children David (Holly), Michelle Griffis (Doug) and her "baby" Christopher (Bunny), 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Faye Potter and Carolyn Potter and several nieces and nephews
Amongst many things, Kathy was a loving wife, mother and a 40-year employee of Broome Bituminous. She was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Vestal Elks Lodge #2508, where she worked countless volunteer hours, alongside her husband and many others, to help build the lodge into what it has become today.
The family would like to express sincerest gratitude to the staff of Ideal Senior Living Center (Violet Court) for the compassionate care and for making her final days comfortable, giving a special thank you to Taia Clark. We would also like to thank her home aides Nina and Cathy, and her special friends Monica Pennington and Joanne McNeal for their support throughout the years.
Per Kathy's request, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held on August 15, 2026 (a day shy of her 81st birthday) at the Vestal Elks Lodge, 2071 Vestal Parkway West, Vestal, NY at 1 pm.
