Bruce Gerald Hogeboom, 77, of Endwell, NY, passed away on October 10, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Bruce will be remembered for his love of family, quick wit, big heart, and unmistakable “grrrrr.”
Bruce shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia. He is survived by Patricia; his children, Karen (Rick) Vonderhaar and Michael Hogeboom; and his cherished grandchildren, Savannah and Wyatt Vonderhaar, and Caden and Kendal Hogeboom. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda (Ron) Sliter, Patricia (Dale) Ford, and Barbara (Lynn) Abbott; and his brother, David (Kathy) Hogeboom; sister-in-laws Kathleen and Joan. Bruce deeply loved his many nieces, nephews, and extended family across generations.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Dorothy Hogeboom; his sister, Shirley Wittling; and his brothers, Faye Hogeboom and Wayne Hogeboom.
Bruce proudly served six and a half years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and spent the majority of his career at Anitec. He loved hunting, golfing, NASCAR, the New York Jets, and the New York Yankees. His greatest joys included watching his children and grandchildren play sports alongside Patricia, dancing with friends, telling jokes, and making conversation with anyone willing to stop and chat. He treasured his dear friends and “brother from another mother,” Jerry and Tina Lillie, and his best pals Geoff and Jacky Batt, making countless long car trips to spend time with them.
Bruce faced Parkinson’s disease with grit and determination. His family extends heartfelt thanks to his Parkinson’s coaches and boxing friends for helping him fight like a champ.
