Nancy Lou Salmieri

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Lou Salmieri, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, who left this world on January 11, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 80. Born on May 2, 1945, in Binghamton, New York, Nancy's life was filled with love, laughter, and compassion that touched all who knew her.

Nancy was the daughter of Howard and Geraldine Rackett. She grew up with three brothers, Howard, Dave and Russell Rackett, providing her with a lifetime of cherished memories. She graduated from Union Endicott High School, where her infectious spirit and kind heart began to shine.

On November 7, 1987, Nancy married Frank J. Salmieri. Their union was a beautiful chapter in her life, filled with joy and partnership. Together, they created a warm and loving home, where family was always the priority.

Nancy's greatest pride and joy were her children,  grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Claudette Hayes and daughter Vicky Dyer. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Cordell Smith Jr., Parris Smith, Isis Smith, Treyvon Smith, Melissa Williams, Chelsea Bennett, Natalie Mone, and her six great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, embodying the love she so generously shared.

Sadly, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her mother and father Howard and Geraldine Rackett, her beloved daughter Laurie Kress, her brothers, Howard Rackett II and Russell Rackett.

A small service to honor Nancy's life will be held on January 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Vestal Hills Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable life, sharing stories, and remembering the incredible woman she was.

Nancy will be deeply missed but fondly remembered—her love, laughter, and spirit will resonate in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
