Gary Darling passed away on June 28 at Lourdes Hospital after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Helen Darling, brother James W. Darling, sister Jacki Leet, and nephew John P. Leet.
He is survived by his wife Marcia, sons Andy (Beth) Osborne, Josh (Casey) Osborne, sister Shirley (Paul) Smith, brother-in-law John Leet, brother-in-law Brian (Wanda) Glover, grandchildren Maggie Osborne, Matt Staples, Lizzy (Rich) Lynch, and nieces and nephews Heather (Joel) Storer, Allyson Darling, Jason (Brittany) Lisick, Christopher (Abagail) Lisick, Kate (Mike) Dingell, Tony (Jennifer) Glover, and Jay (Jennifer) Glover, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.
Gary was an avid sports fan and couch sitter, especially regarding Syracuse Basketball and Football, never missing a game. Gary himself was an athlete and golfer, being the self-proclaimed best putter in the family.
Gary served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era. Gary loved his family including many pets throughout the years.
A celebration of life will be held at the GalleyTavern in Endwell from 5-8pm on Thursday July 3.
The family would like to thank the ICU team at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital for their respect, dedication and care during Gary's illness.
