Lorenz on January 11, 2024, and her grandson, Nicholas Drapp.  She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses: Karen & Lew Walker of Summerville, SC; Debra and Steve Dykun of Orange, CT; and Vicki and Steve Drapp of Lancaster, OH.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Gregory (Michelle), Corey (Kirsten) and Colin Walker; Zachary and Eric Dykun; Emily and Stephanie Drapp.  She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Audrey, Gregory II, Garrett and Juliette Walker.  She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Lasky, her brother, Edward Eckert, sister-in-law, Muriel Jackson, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many friends and neighbors.

Beverly was born and raised in the Endicott area and graduated from Union-Endicott High School class of 1954.  After high school, Bev began her career with IBM, and later worked in the offices of Endicott Johnson Shoes, where she remained until her retirement.  During this time, she was introduced to her future husband, Vic.  They were married on April 25th, 1959.  Bev was a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and an endlessly supportive presence in her daughters’ lives.   Bev was the kind of mother who was always there – typing last-minute school papers, volunteering for every activity, and chauffeuring on countless occasions.  She was a Brownie troop leader, room mom, and an enthusiastic supporter of her daughters’ sports, especially the West Corners Softball League.  Holidays were not complete without Bev’s homemade treats, particularly her apricot kolache, nutrolls, and her cherished Scandinavian specialties.

Bev was a talented seamstress and knitter and created clothing for her daughters when they were young. Bev later became known for her beautifully crafted Afghans.  She devoted time each week to sewing and knitting groups and consistently contributed handmade items to St. Joseph’s annual church bazaars. Bev was also a familiar face in her community.  Many remember her from the Pizza Frite tent at the St. Joseph Bazaar or volunteering at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open at Enjoie Golf Course. Her greatest weekly joy was bowling night with her sister and cousin, Betty.

Bev embraced her role as grandmother with warmth and pride and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren.  She was later overjoyed to welcome four great grandchildren who brought her immense joy.  Bev’s life was rich with family, traditions, faith, and the simple pleasures of caring for the people she loved.  She will be remembered for her kindness, her unshakable devotion to her family, her talent with a sewing needle and knitting needles, her delicious baked goods, and the countless ways she quietly made life brighter for everyone around her.

Bev and Vic made their home in the Triple Cities for most of their lives before their later years brought them closer to their children as their health declined.
