Sharon was born in Taylor, PA. Her family moved to Endicott, NY in 1945. She graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1953. In her professional career she worked in bookkeeping, banking, and tax preparing, before finding her true calling as a nurse – graduating from Broome Community College at the age of 59. Her many years with her work family at Dr. Blom’s office in Binghamton inspired her to pursue this path. She always said that her years in nursing at General Hospital were the most professionally fulfilling of her life. She retired from nursing at the age of 76.

In her leisure time she loved travelling – to New York City for shopping and theater, up and down the East Coast from Maine to Florida to visit family and friends, and twice to her ancestral homeland of England and Wales. She was an avid fan of baseball and hockey, always cheering for her teams, the Yankees and Rangers. However what brought her the most joy in life was her family. Her limitless generosity will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. We will miss her wisdom, her wit, her many stories of our family’s history, and the taste of her delicious Welsh cookies hot off the griddle.

In honor of her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial gathering was held. If you wish to make a donation in remembrance of Sharon, please consider The Broome County Dog Shelter, 110 Cutler Pond Rd. Binghamton, NY 13905.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dominick and Mary Greco, her sisters Anna (Carlo) Roma, Minnie (Louis) DiFulvio, Catherine (Nick) English, Angie (John) Dellos, Lillian (Joe) Pisani and her brother Sam (Rose) Greco. Although she never had any children, she loved her many nieces and nephews as her own. She was also very proud to be an aunt to three additional generations of nieces and nephews who she adored. Children always put a big smile on her face.

Our precious, Aunt Julia will be dearly missed by family, close friends, and her St. Anthony Church family where she was a life-long member. Living for 100 years in a house just down the street from the parish, St. Anthony’s became the center of her long and special life. She was a member and served as secretary of Catholic Daughters, was a leader for many years of St. Anthony’s Girl Scouts and sang in the choir. She loved her Café group and spending mornings after church having coffee and chatting.

Aunt Julia lived through two pandemics, WWII (where she served in several home front efforts) and saw the advent of planes, cars, television, computers, etc. She never missed a baptism, wedding, birthday, or graduation. When there was a party, you could count her in!  She loved to travel and exercise. She loved her home where the coffee was always on, and all were welcomed.  Her love of clothes, shoes, jewelry, and purses is well known. She made the absolute best biscotti but never liked sharing the exact secret recipe. She worked hard all her life but never complained! She retired from IBM where she was a secretary for many years and was proud that she took many night classes to improve her skills.

Our Aunt Julia was devoted to the Blessed Mother and said the rosary every day.

Derek Greco

Derek Greco passed away at his home on June 19th unexpectedly. Derek was survived by his loving sister, Kelsey Greco; adoring godson, Jaycob Kucko; many aunts and uncles including David and Peggy Kucko, Gloria and Joe Greco, Bernadine Kucko and, David Brian Kucko; friend Carly Norkitis; and most importantly, his pride and joy, his dog Blondi. Derek left
this life to be reunited with his mother, Kelly Greco-Pratt; father, Daniel Greco; little brother, Cory Greco; grandparents, Robert and Sally Kucko; uncle, Scott Kucko; and best friends, Nathan Schulte, Jesse Savona, and Daniel Madden.
This is a loss that has ripped through those he left behind.

Though Derek held strong to a tough exterior, he was a gentle and loving soul. Derek’s love for BMX was his primary passion in life that he always carried with him. He was a proud starting member of BMX group, Endicott Street Crew, and member of Team Major Air. Derek’s love for BMX and those he shared it with was a driving force that got him through many difficult years and losses. When Derek wasn’t riding his bike you could usually find him under the hood of a car, as he loved his career as a mechanic even owning his own shop D.N.Greco Automotive
Repair. Derek found comfort in music which was an essential piece of his life. He loved to share this with those close to him, frequently pointing out that their taste was not as good as his, but he would help them get it right. Nothing will be able to fill the hole that was left by the loss of Derek. He was a great son, grandson, brother, and friend.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 23rd at 1:00 PM at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
