Sebastian (Sam) Rossi

Sebastian (Sam) Rossi, 82 of Endicott, passed away peacefully Thursday April 29, 2021 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Luigi and Francesca Rossi and his brother-in-law, Matteo Tiberia. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eve (Battaglini) Rossi; two daughters, Francine (Robert) Killian and Arleen Rossi; his grandson, Matthew Killian; two sisters, Lydia Tiberia and Antoinette (Donato) Roberto; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, a member of the Order Sons of Italy in America, Binghamton Lodge #487 and the Northside Sausage Club. He was the owner of Rossi’s Pizza and Market, Endicott for over 30 years. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of UHS and Guthrie for the compassionate care given to Sam.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:30 AM from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5 to 7 PM. Irene Hranek

Irene Hranek, 92, of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021.  She was known to many as Grammy, and will be remembered by all who knew her as a wonderfully warm and generous person.Irene graduated with honors from Union - Endicott High School in 1946.  She was a senior class officer and participated in numerous clubs.  Her family will remember her most for her love of baking, especially eggie cookies, apple pie and French toast, playing Uno at the kitchen table, serving fresh raspberries with sugar sitting on the front porch, and calling her kids home with her exceptionally loud whistle.  She loved to shop and was an amazing bargain hunter, and if you tried to do the jumble in the newspaper faster than she, you would likely lose.  She knew the weekly menu at “Nya Nya’s” (Jimmy Roma's) and was a regular for pot roast sandwiches and chili. She made many friends working at Valley Design, and continued those friendships into her later years. She was married to Tony for 53 years.  Together they had a zest for travel, visiting family in Czechoslovakia, taking many family trips cross country, spending summers at Sodus Point, and one of the best, their trip to Hawaii.  They enjoyed many picnics with the Czechoslovak Moravian Club and listening to polkas. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Wanechek, her husband Anthony Hranek, sisters and brothers in law Betty and Frank Sevcik, Lillian and William Antal, and grandson Eric Pinto.  She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and husband John LaShier, her son, Gary and wife Tara Hranek, grandchildren Melissa and husband Mike Heller, Nicole and husband Eric Johnston, Brienne and husband Marcus Harris, Scott Hranek, Stefan Hranek, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 The family would like to thank all the staff at Ideal Senior Living Center for their compassionate care, especially the 5th floor assisted living and dining room staff, Tulip Court, and Violet Court. The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM when funeral services will begin, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church 207 Hayes Ave. Endicott, NY. Shirley Wyak

Shirley Wyak, 86, of Endicott passed away on April 21, 2021.  She was predeceased by her parents J. Benjamin and Anna Chura, her sister Lucille Phelps and niece Andrea Perry. She is survived by her daughter Courtney Most, her grandsons Nicholas and Christopher Most, all of Endwell, her sister Sandra Perry of NJ, her sister-in-law Carol (Dick) Lehr. Moravia NY, also several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Shirley was a graduate from Union Endicott High School class of 1952 and Cortland College.  She was a kindergarten teacher at George W. Johnson for over 35 years and after that speech and language screening (10+ years).  She absolutely loved her job and hated to leave.  Nothing gave her more joy than being somewhere and hear “Mrs. Wyak”!  Those of you that had her as a teacher it meant the world to her when you said hello and talked about your kindergarten memories.  After losing her husband Steve of 60 years, over 3 years ago, a part of her was missing.  They did everything together. They purchased a cottage when they were only 26 years old that changed theirs, and so many others, lives forever. They spent most of their time there.  She was able to spend her summers there with her daughter Courtney and once retired she and her husband would enjoy their summers, weekends and holidays there with their true gems…grandsons, Nick and Chris.  She was her daughter and grandsons life and now losing both Baba and Papa leaves a big void that can never ever be filled. She was so very proud of her family. She and her husband loved to dance.  They are jitterbugging to their hearts content right now.  She loved her family and lake family, snowmobiling, selling at antique shows with her sister, casinos, her antique shops and her Jonathan’s Crew.  She especially loved going on cruises and of course we can’t forget her love for Frank Sinatra.  She was president of the Alzheimer’s Association for many years.  She was one very classy lady who lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by so many.

Madelyn A. Kushner

Madelyn A. Kushner of Endicott, born to Mary and John Kushner on August 16, 1945 passed away on April 21, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Irene (Joe) Petrolle; her aunt and uncle, Sue and Joe Kushner; her aunt, Ann D’Angelo; her cousins, Gary Kushner and Barbara (Kushner) Dailey. Madelyn graduated from Union-Endicott High School, class of 1963. She was employed for 30 years at the Giant Market in West Corners. Madelyn was like a sister to her loving Kushner cousins. Those who survive are, Karen Silverman, Kathy (John) Boll, David (Laurene) Kushner, Joe (Judy) Kushner, Brian (Patty) Kushner and Jim Kushner. Also many other cousins survive, especially Diana (Marty) Fiehl and her cousins children, Kristin (Boll) Davis, JB Boll, Kyra Schnauber, Mark Silverman, Laura Gibson, Glenn Schnauber, Nicole Kushner, Aimee Weiner, Victoria Whitcomb and James Kushner. Others who will miss Madelyn are; David (Mary) Petrolle and family, Rosalie Salamida; her dear friend, Barbara Fiacco.

Lawrence (Doug) Sexton

Lawrence (Doug) Sexton, 87 of the Town of Maine, NY, passed away Thursday April 22, 2021 after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Novella; his brothers, Howard and Charles; his sisters, Margaret Graybeal, Helen Sampson, Betty Roland and Nancy Murrell; his brother-in-law, Nicholas Resak; his mother-in-law, Nellie Bussa. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary (Bussa) Sexton; his daughter, Kim Sexton and her husband, Roberto Sangalli; his son, Douglas Sexton and his wife, Teri; his sister-in-law, Helen Resak; his brother-in-law, Andrew Bussa (Ellie); his niece, Nikki Resak (Shayne Harris). He was a retired employee of Crowley Foods, Binghamton, a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War and a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Endicott. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 1:30 PM at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church 1907 Jenkins St. Endicott, NY with the Rev. Nathaniel Choma, officiating. Myie (Mary) Consol of Endwell passed away, Thursday April 22, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents, Dan and Pierina; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Nick and Mary, “Duff”, Brusie and Mary, Al and Phil; her sisters and brothers-in-law, June and Ernie, Nina and Quin, Ida and Dave, and her baby sister, Adeline; her nephews, Ambrose Jr., Anthony and David; her niece, Pierina. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Sheila, Kathleen and Ray, Dan and Rayanne, Albert, Denise, Sam and Nancy, Mary, Tom and Carol, Annette and Kurt, Cherie and Andy, Michael and Valerie, Jimmy, Lisa and Frank, Mary; also several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Joseph Hromek Jr.

Joseph Hromek Jr. ,76, of Endwell, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 20, 2021 and was joyfully reunited with his son, Michael Hromek and parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Hromek. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia; daughter Karen (Barrett) Ouimette; cherished granddaughter Rachel; brother William (Carolyn) Hromek; brother-in-law Joseph (Barbara) Behil; nieces and nephews. Joseph worked at IBM for 35 years as a Staff Engineer where he was an integral part of many groundbreaking projects. He was an avid Syracuse basketball fan and enjoyed playing in basketball, golf and bowling leagues. His hobbies included building and remodeling, gardening and a love of cooking. His self-taught culinary skills and restaurant worthy creations amazed his friends and family. Joseph loved the beach and enjoyed planning family trips and traveling. He loved listening to his extensive collection of recording artists and passed his love and passion for music onto his children.

The family wishes to thank the following physicians for the wonderful care they provided over the years: Lazarus Gehring, MD; Timothy Howland, MD; and Parker M. Gennett, DPM. A special thank you to the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad and the doctors, nurses and aides at UHS Wilson Hospital during his last days. Jamie L Iannone(Walker, Hammond)

Jamie L Iannone(Walker, Hammond), 59, of Berkshire passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2021..  Jamie was well known in the community for her kind heart and open home.  Jamie welcomed everyone she met with open arms.  There was never a distinction with her of friend or family, if you knew Jamie, you were family.  Jamie enjoyed various activities such as gardening and crafting but her most cherished was spending time with family. 

Jamie is predeceased by her fathers Fred Hammond and Duane Walker.  She is survived by her mother Beverly Hammond, husband David Iannone, siblings Kathy Crawford, Ken(Missy) Hammond, children Chris(Gretchen) Frutchey, Jolene(Lawrence) Frutchey, Charla(Shawn) Andrus, David Iannone II, grandchildren Christopher, Luke, Gregory, and multiple nieces and nephews.  The family will be holding a celebration of life memorial for Jamie later this year.  Cards and condolences can be sent to 537 Blackman Hill Road, Berkshire NY 13736.  If you would like to make a donation in her honor, please do so to your local SPCA as Jamie had a large love for animals.

Theresa Kolone (Mama T.)

Theresa Darpino Kolone (Mama T), aged 92, of Endicott, NY, went peacefully to be with Our Lord on April
11, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Julia Darpino, her brother, Dick, and her
sister, Virginia. She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Joe, her son, Rick, of Cascade,
Montana, and her daughters, Marion Kovach of Arlington, VA, and Julie Tallo and her husband Jim of
Endwell, NY. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Laney (Helen) Darpino of Endwell, NY, and many
nieces and nephews.

Theresa was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Endicott, NY, her entire life. She first sang in the
junior church choir as a member of the “Choir Girls.” Her beautiful mezzo-soprano voice earned her
many accolades, moving people to tears. At UE High School, she tried out and won several state singing
contests. Her singing coach told her that her talent was deserving of Julliard, but she chose to sing for
Our Lord. After high school, she continued singing with the St. Joseph’s Senior Choir, and one Christmas
Eve in the early 1950s, she performed “O Holy Night” as the featured soloist with the choir on The
Ralph Carrol Show. She loved cooking and baking, and each year contributed to the church bazaar by making her delicious halupkis and kolachki. She enjoyed travel with her husband, Joe, especially on their yearly trips to California to see their son, Rick. They frequently included trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, to enjoy their favorite pastime, “playing the slots.” Theresa’s favorite times were spent as the proprietor of Mama T’s Restaurant, Endwell, NY, which was named after her. She always said that when the doorbell rang, it wasn’t just a customer; it was a new friend. Everyone who met Theresa was immediately taken by her giving nature and sparkling personality. She was a great story and joke teller, and her timing was always on point. She will be missed by so many people.

Thank you to the nurses and staff at UHS Senior Living at Ideal, Endicott, NY, for their care and support
during the final years of her life. A special appreciation goes to the activities staff who arranged
wonderful entertainment providing singing, dancing, and bingo which Theresa really enjoyed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church 207 Hayes Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Cemetery, Endwell, NY. Maria G. (Gasbarra) Fiori

Maria G. (Gasbarra)Fiori, our beloved wife and mother, went to be with the Lord, Friday April 9, 2021 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her parents, Giovanni and Francesca Gasbarra; her sisters, Elena (Nando) Carpentieri, Antoinietta Gasbarra, Margarita Gasbarra, Gioconda Barbara; her niece, Rosemarie Tedeschi. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Filiberto Fiori; three adoring children, JoAnna Fiori Voorhees (Tim), Albert Tino Fiori, Gabriella Horan. Known to her grandchildren as “Nonna” she will be greatly missed by Steven and Austin Voorhees, Kazmiras and Giada Horan; her brother, Peter (Maria) Gasbarra; her sister, Rosa (Frank) Tedeschi; her brother-in-law, Carlo Barbara; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maria holds a very special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Cacci. She spent countless hours with her special companion. She was born in Olevano, Italy and came to the United States in 1956 where she worked at Endicott Johnson until she retired in 2009. Our mother was known by many and loved by all. Everyone loved Maria. She was known to be the most wonderful, kind, loving, sweetest person you have ever met. “ I just love your MOM came from all across the world…..she never met a stranger. Engaging in conversations with anyone she met. She was magnetic. Her legacy of love is imbedded in her children and grandchildren. There are few angels on earth and our mom was one of them. She did not have to wait for her wings to get to heaven, she already had them here on earth. She loved to sit on her porch, attracting her friends and family to just stop by and sit for a cup of tea or coffee. There was always fresh baked cakes or cookies, not to mention her sauce, ravioli and gnocci. She was an amazing cook, her food exuded so much love to all who shared her meals. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott.

Christopher Michael Ciotoli

Christopher Michael Ciotoli, 49 of Binghamton, passed away Friday April 9, 2021at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY after a long courageous battle with Covid-19. He is survived by his father, Mike (Patty) Ciotoli; his mother, Kathy (Duane) Jones; his loving life partner, Tanya Beurket; his grandmother, Olga Kotasek; his aunts and uncles, Lori Isabella, Joe (Charlotte) Ciotoli, Rita Wallick, Bob (Tina) Ciotoli, Mike (Beverly) Kotasek, Sharon (Joe) Gana, Jim Cooke and Norma Manning, also many cousins and dear friends.

Our dear “Cio’s” purpose in life was perhaps to affect the lives of others and to make us all value each precious moment we have together. He was always willing to help anyone and always had a smile. Knowing Chris, you understood his unconditional love for his family and friends. He tried to make the best of every situation and was charismatic as a person could be. It may appear that his life was cut short, but that is not true, he grasped this life and its true meaning. He listened and understood people and most importantly put his faith in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. The family wishes to thank the ICU Units of Wilson Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital for the loving care and compassion care that was shown to Chris. He was predeceased by his brother, Tommy Ciotoli; his grandparents, Louis and Vincy Ciotoli, Michael Kotasek, Marilyn and Bill Cooke; his uncles, Lindy Isabella, Bob Wallick and Ron Cooke; his cousins, Jake Rommel and Ruthie Fiato.

Aaron Wilson

Aaron Wilson, 26 of Endwell, NY, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday April 4, 2021 at Wilson Hospital. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandria Wilson; his mother, Lynette Wilson-Temple; his step-father, Joseph Temple; his father, Donald Wilson, Jr.; three brothers, Donald (Tanya) Wilson, Joshua (Serenity) Wilson, Jonathan (Melissa) Temple; also five nieces, two nephews and numerous family members and friends.

Aaron was so full of life. He loved to hang with friends and he was the life of the party. His sense of humor was top notch, never letting what others thought of him keep him down. He loved to play chess and applied it to life, always thinking several steps ahead. In his lifetime he overcame the never ending trials. He was a warrior. His style was unmatched, he was like a Tsunami. Aaron may have appeared rough around the edges, but he had a big heart and will be remembered as a free spirit, never held back by his burden, he refused to be beaten. Nothing could ever truly contain his flame. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9th at 12:30 PM at The Landmark Church, 126 Court St. Binghamton, NY 13901 with Pastor Dan Little, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:30 PM.

Barry Edward Vallequette

Barry Edward Vallequette, 71 of Vestal, NY, passed away Monday March 29, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Wave (Lindblom.) Vallequette; his aunt, Norma Vallequette. He is survived by two sons, Adam and Dylan Vallequette; one granddaughter, Kolibri Firm; one brother, Mark (JoAnn) Vallequette; one sister, Denise (Rick) O'Meara; his girlfriend, Brenda Race; his former wives, Lisa and Janice; his cousins, Irene (Russ) Ives, Jerry (Rosemary) Ciotoli, his aunt, Nora (Bill) Francis; his uncle, Clark Vallequette; a special friend, Dave Koncak; also nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and Alfred State University. He was a retired Lockheed Martin Employee and a member of the US Golfers Teachers Association, the Vestal Elks Lodge and the Vestal Center Social Club. In addition to his family and friends, Barry had two passions, hunting and golf. His greatest joy besides his sons and granddaughter was being in the woods or on the golf course. Barry had a heart of gold, cherished his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY with the Rev. Mark Kimpland, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 5:45 PM. The Vestal Elks Lodge will hold a Lodge of Sorrows Service Wednesday  5:45 PM at the funeral home.

Mary Elizabeth (Soucy) Ferencik, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the age of 89. Mary was an extraordinary homemaker who raised her family with a constant presence and dependability. She met life’s challenges with strength, courage and grace. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved baking and was very generous with her delicious treats. She was devoted to the Blessed Mother and was a woman of unwavering faith. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Endicott. The family expresses a sincere thank you to the staff of James G. Johnston Nursing Home for the loving care and compassion that Mary received over the past few years.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church 207 Hayes Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. There will be NO calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to either, St. Joseph’s Church or Mercy House 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.

Theodore A. Scarinzi

Theodore A. Scarinzi, our wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather was called home by our heavenly Father to be reunited with his loving wife, Rebecca; his parents, Caesar and Nicolina; his sister and brothers-in-law, Irma (Don) Mastronardi, Tony Grasso and John Maliwacki. He is survived by his loving daughter, Pattie (Tom) Baleno; his grandchildren, Tommy (Teresa) Baleno, Alicia (Mike) Gazdik, Vince (Stephanie) Baleno; his great-grandchildren, Anina and Olimpia Baleno, Maxim, Mariana and Christian Gazdik; his sisters-in-law, Linda Grasso, and Jayne Maliwacki; also several nieces and nephews.

Ted retired from the Susquehanna Valley School District where he taught 6th Grade. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Air Force and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott. He enjoyed golfing and having coffee at McDonalds with his friends. He was an extremely talented Artist whose oil paintings adorn many homes of family and friends. He touched many hearts and will be sadly missed. Private funeral services were held and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. Richard David Garcia

Richard David Garcia was born on August 10th, 1963, in Jamaica Queens New York to Beatrice Johnson Garcia, and Virgilio Garcia. His parents separated in 1973 yet remained close throughout the duration of his life. Richard later met and married Marilyn E. Patton and relocated to Binghamton NY. God blessed Richard with two beautiful intelligent daughters but overall he was a father, a big brother, an uncle, a cousin, and a friend to countless people in which he encountered. Richard was a pillar of strength to anyone that knew him. His beautiful smile, his sense of humor, and the unselfish compassion he had for others, will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those who know him best. He was a soldier in God’s army and a protector of many.

Richard was educated in the NYC School System. He attended PS116 elementary, IS8 Junior High and obtained his High School Diploma at August Martin High School in Jamaica Queens NY. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 1986 and was devoted to his profession as a barber for many years during his adult life. At the age of 42, He owed his own barbershop in Jamaica NY (Bricktown). Richard worked diligently to cut hair for his peers and family members before becoming disabled in 2015.

Richard enjoyed traveling, going to casino’s, family gathering, BBQ’s and most of all he enjoyed singing and dancing to his favorite R&B songs with family and friends. He was truly a devote fan of “Jahiem” and oldies from the 80’s and 90’s. Anyone that knew him knew, he possessed the biggest tape collection in the family. He would record music for you but you were not getting his originals. Richard was one of a kind. He lived to see that the family remained connected and the ones that knew him best will truly miss him.

Richard was survived by his mother: Beatrice Garcia, Father: Virgilio Garcia. Sisters: Linda & Sabrina Garcia, Iesha and Josey, Brothers: Larry & Virgil Garcia, David Virgilio, Ralph and Bonita Terry, his ex-wife Marilyn Garcia, his daughters: Mercedes & Mahogany Garcia, his grandson: True, Several Step children, Nephews: Carl Garcia, Jalil Miles, Deshaun & Connel Terry. His Nieces: Serita Marrow, Camille Garcia, Latondra Garcia, Cousins: Donna, Diane, Eddie, Lisa, Dorothy, and Delores Jordan. Uncle: Richard and a host of other cousins, and relatives not mentioned.

Behind His Eyes

Always Joking, laughing, and protecting people, 

and lifting other’s Spirits

But there was a sadness behind his eyes

That only a sibling could notice

Behind that devilish grin

Behind all of the strength he portrayed

Were deep dark feelings of weariness

Rose (Valenta) Herceg

Rose (Valenta) Herceg, 94 of Vestal, NY, went home to be with her lord peacefully on March 8, 2021, at Willow Point Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph. She is survived by five children, Theresa Maniscalco, Michael (Irene)Herceg , Cindy (Larry) Hunsinger, Maria Reeves, John (Cheryl) Herceg; her grandchildren, Lia (Victor) Evaristo, Tony (Danielle) Maniscalco, Matthew (Felicia) Herceg, Jeremy Herceg, Eric Herceg, Cassandra (Jerry) Tanner, Michelle (Eric) Freemesser, Todd (Suzanne) Hunsinger, Trevor (Jennifer) Hunsinger; her great-grandchildren, Bryce Maniscalco, Sofia Maniscalco, Samantha, Jaden and Gavin Herceg, Alex Amaral, Yesenia Evaristo, Donovan Hranek, Cheyenne Tanner, Shiloh Tanner, Keira Hunsinger, Connor Hunsinger; three sisters, Agnes Valenta, Vilma Valenta, Julia Minkler; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a member of the Vestal Fire Department, Station #3 Ladies Auxilliary. Rose was a great cook who loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. There will be no formal funeral services. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s own choice.

John Hrustich

John Hrustich (Zozzie), 91, of Endicott, New York, received his wings and peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 19, 2021.  His loving wife of sixty six years, Anna, was at his bedside holding his hand and telling him how much she loved him.  He is survived by the love of his life Anna; his children Deborah Hrustich, M.D. (Paul Osterdahl, M.D.), Julie Faughnan (Donald), John Hrustich (Nikki), Stephen Hrustich (Mary); his grandchildren Katie Osterdahl (Dustin), Paul Osterdahl, Jr. D.O. (Melissa Gott, D.O.), Jackie Osterdahl (Charles), Donnie Faughnan (Hannah), Patrick Faughnan, Greggie Faughnan, M.D. (Brittany), Jack Hrustich, Noah Hrustich, Stephen Hrustich, Grace Hrustich, and Alex Dilello (Kristin); great grandchildren Eleanor Rose who loved him to the moon and back and brought him such great joy over the last two years, and Althea Mae; and his younger brother Michael Hrustich.  He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Julia Hrustich, and his older brother George (Rooster).

After graduating from Union Endicott High School in 1948, he enlisted in the Navy and was drafted from the fleet to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, graduating in 1954.  He went on to serve in the Navy, the Air Force and the Air Force Reserves, retiring at the rank of Major in 1976.  He also served as a Trustee in the Village of Endicott for two terms.  John worked at IBM for twenty five years and retired as an Advisory Engineer in 1984 after spending three years in Boebligen, Germany where he and Anna traveled throughout Europe, including several trips to visit relatives in Czechoslovakia.   He had several patents from his time at IBM.  Education was of the utmost importance to him.  While working full time, he continued his studies earning three Masters Degrees in various Engineering disciplines from Syracuse University and the University of Vermont.  

The two most important things to John were his unwavering faith in God and the love of his family.   We spent so many hours around the dining room table telling stories and jokes and his family was so blessed to have such wonderful memories of an amazing man.  Golf was his passion and he spent many happy hours at Enjoie Golf Course with his golfing buddies.  We truly believe that he is in heaven golfing with his buddies and Arnold Palmer.  As he grew older, he loved having coffee at McDonald’s with his friends.   

He was a lifetime member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Endicott.  

A private funeral service was held and he was buried at Riverhurst Cemetery in Endicott.  A celebration of his life will be held at a future date, to be announced by the family.  If you wish, you may make a memorial contribution in John’s name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY at 1100 East Genesee Street Syracuse, New York 13210.

We love you and we will miss your smile and your beautiful sparkling blue eyes, until we meet again.

Barbara Wright

Barbara Wright, 80 of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully, February 20, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Ethel Wright; two brothers, Leonard and William Wright. She is survived by three children, Angel Turrigiano, Paula Turrigiano Ames, Vince (Lisa) Turrigiano; eight grandchildren who were a part of her everyday life, Jeremy, Jarrett, Peri, Tori, Gavin, Bryce, Debora and Janell; one great-granddaughter, Liliana; two sisters, Rita Hanns and Betty Treadwell.

She was a retired employee of IBM and a member of The Church of the Holy Family, Endwell where she enjoyed helping to prepare for the Fish Dinners. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren out to lunch and attending their sporting events and dance recitals. She looked forward to dinner out with her friends and loved cooking and feeding her fur babies who we know she will be happy to see. QVC was a favorite past time and she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY.
