Carolyn June Munck

Carolyn June Munck (nee Mitrus) passed peacefully into the Lord's arms on Saturday evening, April 4, 2020.  She was born in Endicott, NY, on December 13, 1936, to John and Mary Mitrus, her parents, who had predeceased her.  She was also predeceased by her brother, William John Mitrus, and her beloved grandson Peter William Munck.  Carolyn is survived by her son, Erik Alfred Munck and his fiancee, Vanessa; her grandchildren, Shawn Jason Munck (Endicott), Cara Allison Munck and Devin Snyder (Binghamton), and Antonette Benedict (nee Chanitz);  her precious great-grandchildren Rylan Jayce Snyder, and Alexander Lee Munck (Florida); her nephews Dr. William Joseph Mitrus and family (Long Island, NY) and Nicholas John Mitrus (Baltimore, MD); and niece, Christy, and Scott (Windsor, NY). Also Aunts and several cousins.

Carolyn lived several years in Los Angeles, where she met and married Peter Munck (1957), who had immigrated from Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1949 (1934-1992).  Erik was born in Los Angeles (1959).  Carolyn and her family relocated to Scottsdale, AZ, in May 1971, when her husband Peter found work as an Architect.  Carolyn and Peter separated in January 1973, and she and Erik came back to Endicott, NY, for good. She worked many years in the Hotel Industry and had attended Broome Community College (Binghamton, NY) and El Camino Junior College (Torrance, CA). She particularly loved going to the beach while in Los Angeles.  Her favorite beach was Manhatten Beach.  Carolyn devoted her entire life to family and friends, and it is hoped that everyone who knew her and loved her will join us in the future (after this COVID-19 crisis passes) for a memorial service to celebrate her life. Jennifer Kay Zizzi

Jennifer Kay Zizzi, 33, of Apalachin, NY, beloved daughter to Mark & Elaine Zizzi,  loving mother to Noah & Savannah, and cherished sister to Emily Zizzi, passed away on March 21, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with the disease of addiction.  

Jenny had a heart of gold.  If she called you family or friend, she cared deeply for you. Her greatest gift were her children, whom she adored.  She graduated from Vestal High School,   Class of 2004 and loved all things Michael Jackson, James Patterson & Sylvia Brown.   Above all, she tried her best at everything, especially her fight to overcome addiction.  Her humor, warm smile, kind heart, and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her.   

  Jenny was born April 19, 1986, and is predeceased by Grandparents Enrico & Kathleen Zizzi, Frank Lowe, and Aunt Mary Ellen Sprague,  She is survived by Grandparents Dottie Lowe, Ron & Carol Renaldo, Uncles Kevin (Debbie) Renaldo, Eric (Jennifer) Renaldo, Michael Zizzi, David Sprague, Aunts Jody Zizzi, Jamie (Pete) Bernard and Angela Zizzi, Cousins Samantha (Sean) Iddings, Michael Sprague, Allison & Lori Bernard, Adam & Burke Zizzi, Austin Renaldo, Wyatt Kuhr as well as a loving extended family and friends.

Heather Mae Perkins Dengler

Heather Mae Perkins Dengler passed away on March 19, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Bob Dengler, her mother Linda Jenkins, siblings and a large extended family in New York and Texas.

Heather taught English Language Arts at West Middle School in Binghamton for the past eight years. She spent dozens of summer and evening hours lovingly creating a classroom that immediately welcomed anyone that stepped into it. She spent years building a classroom library that included hundreds of books in every genre imaginable, and she loved sharing and discussing each of the books with her students. Heather didn't just teach; she gave her everything with love and compassion so that her students would find passion in learning, reading, and, most importantly, in feeling loved. To the West Middle Community, she was more than a teacher and colleague. She was a friend, support for fellow teachers, an advocate for her students, and a source for wonderful and sometimes crazy ideas. Heather's passing leaves a huge void in West Middle School and to our community. We would like to thank the Mercy House in Endicott for the excellent caregiving during her last days to give her comfort.

Florence (Musa) Fiorelli

Florence (Musa) Fiorelli, 94 of Endwell, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Vestal Park. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Fiorelli. She is survived by two children, Don (Tanya) Fiorelli, Greene, NY, Renee (George) Luba, Custer, SD; three grandchildren, Patrick (Amanda) Griffith, Norton, MA., Matthew (Margaret) Fiorelli, Binghamton, NY., Thomas (Lacy) Fiorelli, Plumes Lake, CA.; six great-grandchildren, Claire, Annabelle and PJ Griffith, Aurora Fiorelli, Henry and Payton Fiorelli; two brothers and two sisters, Dorothy Marconi, Endwell, NY., Robert (Laura) Musa, Endicott, NY., Dick Musa, Boca Raton, FL., Phyllis (George) Koury, Ft. Myers, FL.; also several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott and a retired food service manager at Our Lady of Sorrows School, Vestal. The family extends sincere thanks to Vestal Park’s staff, especially “Katie” and Vestal Dialysis staff, especially “Maggie”, for the compassionate care that Florence received. Private funeral services will be held in accordance with the current health guidelines. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. A public funeral service will be held at a later date. Mary Bartos

Mary Bartos 92, of Binghamton NY, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2020 at Elizabeth Church Manor Binghamton, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Milton Bartos. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Kubic, Endicott NY and her son Christopher Bartos, Victor NY, 3 beautiful granddaughters Jessica, Alison and Laura Bartos, 2 grandsons Isaac and Noah Bartos, one niece and several nephews.

Mary was a wonderful person, an inspiration to us all and was loved by family and friends. She lived and shared a wonderful long life!

Paula A. Warholic

Paula A. Warholic, of Souderton, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was 56. She was the beloved wife of David Warholic.Born in Endicott, New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert Welch and the late Elizabeth (Vavra) Welch Esposito.

Paula was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, Endicott, New York.
Most recently, Paula had been employed for 12 years as a floral designer for A. C. Moore, Royersford.
She was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Hatfield. A talented floral designer, Paula was an avid gardener, who also enjoyed baking and going to craft shows.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael Wood, and his wife, Nicolette, of Endicott; her daughter, Danielle Warholic, of Souderton; a granddaughter, Vaeda Wood, of Endicott; a grandson, Bodie Wood, of Endicott; and a brother, Robert Welch, of Spencerport, New York. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Welch.

Joseph (Poppy) Kicsak Sr.

Joseph (Poppy) Kicsak Sr. (90) was called home on March 7, 2020. Born in Endicott, NY on November 5, 1929, he was predeceased by his parents Michael and Julia Kicsak, brothers Paul, John, John, George, Mikey, sisters Mary, Julia, and Helen, as well as sons Michael and Christopher. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Elgie (Begeal), two sons Edward (Bethann) and Joseph Jr. (Sue) Kicsak, three daughters Annette (Steve) Viengkham, Kathleen (Michael) Baumgartner, and Julia (Yigal) Yosef as well as 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was the owner and operator of K & B Concrete Inc. for over 40 years. He poured foundations for hundreds of homes in the Southern Tier. He was a gentleman farmer, raising beef cattle on the family homestead.  He loved the outdoors, often enjoying the wildlife of deer and wild turkeys in his backyard.  In the summer, he could be found on his tractor haying as well as planting and tending to his garden and apple trees.  In the fall, he loved to hunt deer as well as pick papinky mushrooms.  In his youth, he had a milk run, and on Sundays, he would participate in family games of whiffle ball, volleyball, and kickball while listening to polkas or his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees, on the radio. Later in life, he could be found at all of his kids, grandkid’s and great-grandkid’s events: concerts, sports, awards, and graduations.  He is a long-time member of St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Endicott, NY. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his wife, family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY with the Rev. Fr. Peter Tomas, Pastor of his church officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. The Rev. Fr. Donald Williams

Donald Williams, 86 of Endicott, NY, passed away Friday afternoon March 6, 2020. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Williams in June of 2019. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Karen Williams, Eric and Teresa Williams; two granddaughters, Mallory and Jon Lidaka, Tabatha and Kyle Cummings; two grandsons, Chad Williams and Cameron Williams; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Gracelyn and Maxwell; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a  member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Endicott. He served his country in the US Air Force and was employed for over 30 years as a member of the Endicott Police Department and the Tioga County Sheriffs Department.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12:30 p.m. at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY with the Rev. Fr. Peter Tomas, Pastor of his church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of service at 12:30 p.m.

Sebastian (Bud) Trapani

Sebastian (Bud) Trapani, 84 of Endicott, passed away peacefully Friday March 6, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Theresa Trapani; his sister, Angela Trapani; his infant sons, James and Vincent Trapani. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Filomena (Musa) Trapani; two children, Michael (Gloria) Trapani, Lisa Trapani; his grandchildren, Anthony Trapani, Niki (Jason) Greenawalt, Brittany Trapani (Brian Hughes); his great-grandchildren, Julia and Ava Trapani, Kara, Benjamin and Mackenzie Greenawalt, James Hughes; his brother, Anthony (Angela) Trapani; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his in-laws, Mary Puleo, Geno (Anita) Musa, Anna (Tony) Iannone.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, a retired employee of Endicott Machine and Tool, a veteran of the US Army, and a member of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, Duca Degli Abruzzi Lodge 443, Endicott. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff of Wilson Hospital’s, CVICU and ICU for the compassionate care Bud received. Jim Ritter

With heaviness in my heart, I announce the passing of my beautiful husband of 28 years, Jim Ritter. He leaves behind our 4 precious children, Molly and Adam Ritter, Mauricio and Julian Mendez. Jim is also survived by his best childhood friend, Terry Ross along with a multitude of other buddies. Jim served his country proudly and was a recent retiree from the Local #112. He also proudly worked for the Barnes family at Evans Mechanical. Family was his top priority and he also loved to fish and hunt. He also loved the Green Bay Packers. I am grateful to Dr. Yalamanchili, the beautiful nurses from Broome Oncology, Gordon and the wonderful people who would valet my truck every morning at Lourdes Hospital along with a host of other beautiful people at Lourdes. I thank  the staff of Ross 1 for taking care of Jim and me as I was falling apart on all our visits.  A special thank you to Paul who tenderly took care of Jim in his dying hours and to Charlotte who took care of me. We are planning a celebration of Jim’s life in the near future.

Sheila (Mikels) Stulir

Sheila (Mikels) Stulir, 49, of Endwell passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday evening February 19, 2020. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Nancy Mikels, her mother-in-law, Theresa Stulir, and her brother-in-law, Kenny Jorgensen. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Stulir; her Children Madison, Emma and Danny Stulir; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rhonda and Mark Holbrook, Sue Jorgensen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Karen Mikels, Bruce and Cindy Mikels; her father-in-law, Joseph Stulir; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Steve Wozniak; her brother-in-law, Dave Stulir; her aunt, Mae Stoddard; her dogs, Josie and Piper; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends and co-workers. She was a member of The Church of The Holy Family, Endwell.

Sheila was an employee of AAA Northway, Vestal, where she served as a Travel Center Manager for over 30 years.  The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and entire staff of Wilson Memorial Hospital CVICU for the care, compassion and love that was shown to Sheila and her family. Paul A. Fusco

Paul A. Fusco, 49 of Endicott, passed away, Friday, February 14, 2020 at his home. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Tony and Lena Fusco, John and Pearl Sportelli. He is survived by his parents, Tony and Maria Fusco; his sisters, Christine (Tom) Northrup, Johanna (Dean) Genberg; his nephews and niece, John and Matthew Northrup, Ayden and Natalie Genberg; his aunts and uncles, Anthony Sportelli, John (Donna) Sportelli, Rosemary (Ted) Colaizzi. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Endicott, and a graduate of Union Endicott High School. He was an avid sports fan and a good athlete, playing both Football and Track. He loved playing guitar, formula one racing, and his family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY. Felix (Phil) Stacconi

Felix (Phil) Stacconi, 91, passed away on February 11, 2020. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Rosa Stacconi; his brothers, John and Robert Stacconi. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Patricia Stacconi, Joanne (Lee) Bill, Carolyn (Alan) Michalak; his grandchildren, Jason Kollar, Jennifer Kollar (Liz Hughes), Laura (Zac) Ballard, Kevin, Eric, and Christopher Bill, Jamie Stulir; his great-grandchildren, Cora and Juniper Ballard; his sisters, Rosemary (Earl) Rinker, Gloria (Crockett) White; his sister-in-law, Florence Stacconi; special cousins, Bruno (Jane) Colapietro, Anna Cieri, Mario (Maria) Stacconi; also many very special nieces and nephews.

After graduating from U-E High School, Phil enlisted in the US Army and served in Italy during WW II. He graduated from State Tech (now SUNY Broome) and was employed by General Electric for 37 years. He remained in the Active Army Reserves for forty years, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. Phil believed in supporting his country and his community; He served on the M-E and Boces school boards. Following his retirement, he could be found every Monday for over thirty years, volunteering at the Discovery Center. Phil’s favorite place was his basement workshop. He could fix almost anything and was always available to help family members and friends. He had a strong work ethic that he passed along to his children and grandchildren. He will be missed.

Edward N. Yankovich

Edward N. Yankovich, 69 of Vestal, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Yankovich; his in-laws, Hilda and Joseph Koperwas. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Shirley; his mother, Agnes Yankovich Kuhar; his sister, Debra Yankovich Fisher; his sister-in-law, Debra Simoncini and her husband, Christopher;  his nieces, Kimberlee Borthwick, Tamara Fisher-Blondell (Michael); his nephews, Michael (Leah), Daniel (Brittany), and Christopher Simoncini; also his furry buddy, Hunter.

Ed was an avid sports fan, particularly the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Endicott. Mike Toth

Mike Toth, 68 of Endicott, went into the embrace of our loving Lord, Monday, February 3, 2020. Mike was a self-employed and a committed member of the Our Lady of Angels Adoration Chapel. He enjoyed NFL football (esp. the packers), woodworking and yard work. He was a devoted parishioner and usher at St. Ambrose Church, a UEHS graduate and wrestler and loved cowboy boots. He is survived by his mother, Theresa; his siblings, Tom (Nancy), Mary Ellen Uveges (Mike), Roseann, Joe (Leigh), Lisa Cox (Joey), Chris (Angela) and Jim (Melissa); also many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend, Susan Harrick. Special thanks to the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Care Team and much appreciation to the ladies group of St. Ambrose Church. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. B. Joseph (Bo) Vlasak

B. Joseph (Bo) Vlasak, 94 of Vestal, NY, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Theresa Vlasak; his brothers, Joe, and Stanley Vlasak. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Frances (Kotasek) Vlasak, his daughter, Joanne Ramey and her husband, Ron DePersis; his son, Michael Vlasak; two grandchildren, Chris Ramey (Jacki), Chad Ramey (Tiffany); two great-grandchildren, Jonah Ramey VanNamee, Cameron Ramey; two brothers, Frank (Myrna) Vlasak, Jerry Vlasak (Pat); his brothers-in-law, Peter, Larry (Lill), Karl, Tom Kotasek; his sister-in-law, Marie (Roy) Nersesian; also many loving nieces and nephews. He was a retired employee of IBM Endicott, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal, a member of the CSA Lodge, a former member of Club Moravian, and a WW II Veteran of the US Army 10th Armored Division. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, cards, polka’s on his accordion, and tinkering on various projects. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Binghamton, NY, at the convenience of the family. John M. Dinga

John M. Dinga, 91 of Endicott, was reunited with his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning January 29, 2020. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Julia; his parents, Joseph and Mary (Sisak) Dinga; his brothers, Joseph (Lucy), William (Dorothy), Rudy, Robert (Amelia) Dinga; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Angie (Milt) Miller, Connie (Tony) Iacovelli, Lucy (Cy) DeSanctis, Josie (Joe) Stento, Mario and Cosmo Parisi. He is survived by five children, Jannine (Ron) Kaye, Jay (Ardith) Dinga, Jon (Michelle) Dinga, Jodi (John) Yesensky, Jill (Terry) Hogan; fourteen  grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlin (Kyle), Patrick, Zach, Rocky (Stephanie), Jenna, Ty, Nick, Drew, Josh, Devon, Alexis, Dunovan and John Michael; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hudson and Bryson; his brother, Edward Dinga; his sister-in-law, Lenoir Dinga; his brother-in-law, John Parisi and sister-in-law, Margo Parisi;  also many nieces and nephews.

John was a devoted husband and amazing father to whom family meant everything. He was adored and loved by all of his children and grandchildren for his contagious smile, kind heart and gentle nature. He was always attentive to their interests and loved to impart lessons of hard work and dedication. He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott and its Holy Name Society, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War and a retired IBM employee with 38 years of service.

Leo J. Tersmette, 93 of Endwell passed away Monday evening, January 27, 2020. He was predeceased by his wife Frances C. (VanRijt) Tersmette. He is survived by his four children; Anthony (Patricia Bradley) Tersmette; Maria (James) Rossi; Michael (Melissa) Tersmette; Margaret Tersmette and Tammy; six grandchildren Annelies (Jason) Gatdula, Tessa Rossi, Trevor (Colleen) Tersmette, Lindsay Tersmette, Michaela Tersmette, Derrick Erway and Dalton (Meghan) Bradley; five great-grandchildren Lina, Reed and Miles Tersmette, Cora Gatdula and Alayna Bradley; his special nephew Marcel (Alie) VanRijt. Leo was a member of the Church of The Holy Family in Endwell and a retired I.B.M. Endicott employee. He was the former swim coach for the Endicott Boys’ and Girls’ Club. Private Funeral Services will be held at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott with the Rev. Fr. Calrence F. Rumble officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
